The English Civil War was a battle between King Charles I and the English Parliament in the 1600s. While our video plays, we'll present some facts about the Civil War.
The quest for power raged on from 1642-1648. Everything you are seeing in this video is from actual people reenacting the English Civil war. Weapons such as the Pike, the cannon, and the musket were used. The musket was an early gun. Gunpowder was packed into the barrel, and small lead balls (bullets) were loaded. It had a firing range of 300 yards.
There were actually 3 Civil Wars, we just consider it all as one as they happened in succession. The third War however involved Scotland and Ireland as well.
The Parliament army formed was a Militia. That means they were created from regular citizens.
